Kirsty and Mark were that kind of couple - they made everything fun.

Mark new he had found his soul mate Kirsty when he laid eyes on her on the dance floor and within 6 months he set the scene for what was to be their beautiful beach wedding theme by proposing to Kirsty at Port Elliot beach.

Kirsty and Mark's wedding was a casual affair that included traditional family elements dear to their hearts. Nature, simplicity and happiness were the theme of the day.

As the 96 guests milled outside the wonderful little church in the Inman Valley Church in the Adelaide countryside, they were treated to the arrival of Kristy in her late grandfather’s powder blue coloured 1965 Valiant.

As Kirsty stepped out of the Valiant – a family heirloom in mint condition - guests were treated to a magnificent Collette Dinnigan wedding dress and a bridal bouquet of white daisies that looked like they had just been picked from the soft sweeping hills.

Kirsty and Mark were married by Kirsty's other dear 90 year old grandfather ‘Garnet’, where they exchanged heartfelt traditional vows in front of their closest family and friends. Mark and Kirsty’s obvious adoration of each other and general happiness was shared by all.

Mark made the stunning jewellery pieces worn by the bridal party and Marks mum Simone made Kirsty’s veil and flower girl dresses. Kirsty’s sister Shelley from the US also added her special touches to their wedding day, creating a 6-tiered wedding cake masterpiece, covered in 7.5 kilograms of mouth-watering chocolate.

What could have been a disaster during transportation of the wedding cake, when one of the bridesmaids slipped and the wedding cake ended up covering the front of her dress, ended up with Mark’s mum whipping out her culinary talents and creating an amazing wedding cake now featuring whipped cream and frangipanis as decorations. What joy and laughter this story generated to their fun-filled wedding day and still does as they re-live it through the amazing photographs taken of their special day.

“Oli and Caroline of Accent Photography were just great”, says Kirsty, “they had a great sense of humour and put everyone at ease. They were so helpful and Caroline even started the wedding march off – we were sad to say goodbye to them at the reception. Their photographs captured the true essence of our wedding story”.

Mark and Kirsty jetted off on a two-month holiday, visiting Mark’s family in Switzerland and romantic Italy.

Kirsty’s one piece advice to future brides: “Keep it simple. It’s all about you and your husband-to-be enjoying your wonderful wedding day and sharing it with your closest family and friends.”
