Breathtaking Bollywood Wedding

Location:            Hayman Island

Wedding Date:   February 2008

Hayman Island, situated in Australia's magnificent Great Barrier Reef, was the perfect private island destination for the intimate and romantic wedding of Arti and Barry.

Originally from the UK, Barry (an architect) first laid eyes on his beautiful exotic wife Arti (a business development manager for the Stamford Plaza Adelaide) whilst on holiday in Australia as part of a world trip in early 2000.  Later that same year, Arti joined Barry in the UK where they love for each other continued to blossom.

In 2006 they both returned to Australia to be closer to family and friends.   Soon after, Barry traveled to Hong Kong, where he purchased Arti's diamond encrusted engagement ring from Tiffany & Co and by February 2008, they expressed their deep love for each other with a magnificent Indian infused wedding.

In preparation for her spectacular day, Arti's hands and feet were exquisitely decorated (for 7 hours in the week prior to the wedding) with traditional Indian henna artwork.

On the big day, Arti wore an intricately embroidered Indian sari (a gift from from her uncle in India) , whilst Barry was dressed in cool and casual Indian fabrics - just perfect for the warm weather of the tropics.

After they exchanged their fragrant red carnation lays, they exchanged their heartfelt wedding vows in front of an amazing picture perfect natural backdrop of soft, sensual sand and an amazing tranquil blue sea.

Once the ceremony was complete, Arti changed into a gorgeous white cocktail dress for some additional wedding photos around the wonderfully picturesque and relaxed island.

Later this year, the happy couple will depart for a round the world honeymoon where they will travel to the UK to visit Barry's family for Xmas, celebrate New Years Eve in Miami, go shopping at Tiffany & Co in New York and wind down with a Carribbean cruise, traveling around South America.

Arti’s one piece advice to future brides:

“Be creative...consider purchasing a wedding dress that can be worn again and celebrated.”

Barry's one piece of advice to future grooms:

"Make the day about the two of you...celebrate your special day the way your heart desires...it is after all your day".
